Ethnima is a family run consulting and business services company. Even our company name comes from our family, Eth (from Ethan our son), ni (Nic) and the ma comes from the last few letters of Gemmas name. We chose the Penrose triangle as our company logo to represent how strong the power of three can be (just like our family). This infinite shape represents the limitless growth potential and strength of small businesses everywhere.
We love supporting smaller local businesses and sole proprietors and offer consulting for large and small businesses plus services such as administration and secretarial type support, allowing our clients to spend time doing what they do best and freeing them up for that all important downtime.
Nic runs the consulting side of Ethnima. He grew up in South Africa and moved in the early 2000s to England where he met, and fell in love with his wife Gemma. Since then he have had a long and broad career running projects and operations with global companies. His career brought the family ‘temporarily’ to Denver, Colorado but the beauty of the state and its wonderful residents kept them all wanting to stay here much longer. Nic enjoys helping businesses save time and money and optimizing resources. When he’s not working, he enjoys flying planes, playing golf (when the weather allows), and vacationing and hiking with the family and their two border collie dogs Hoax and Detour.

Gemma grew up in Surrey, England many years of expertise and management in the animal care and training industry and running of a large, premier equine boarding and dressage business and multiple canine training businesses. Sole responsibilities for running multiple successful small businesses including managing P&L, human resources, sales and all aspects of advertising, growth and promotion. A seasoned professional with over twelve years of experience organizing and running events and competitions across multiple industries, including running the premier equine boarding business (Happenstance Barn) plus many canine training businesses.
Over the years she has found she excels at, and really enjoys organization, administration and helping people with advertising and growth. Gemma spends her downtime riding her horses Axel and Willough, volunteering for the local dressage chapter and hiking and relaxing with the dogs and family.
